GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM)-The place where the ArtPrize top ten finalists have been announced every year is a piece of artwork in itself.

Sunday, with the help of ArtPrize founder Rick DeVos, the Frey Foundation dedicated a granite marker in honor of Maya Lin's park-sized sculpture, "Ecliptic." Lin designed the space at Rosa Parks Circle as part of a city revitalization project in the late 1990's.

"It created a new public gathering place for the people of this city. If the people are the lifeblood of Grand Rapids, than 'Ecliptic' is at its heart," DeVos said.

The Frey Foundation was one of the key sponsors for the revitalization project.

Lin is best known for designing the Vietnam War Memorial in Washington D.C.
