(WZZM) - As we approach Fall, Greenthumb Rick Vuyst says it's a great time to take care of your yard and garden.
Rick says it's a good time to plant "steppables". They're little perennials that go between stones in your garden and they will grow and spread throughout the area without much work.
Rick says fall is a great time to plant because the soil is warm, the plant puts energy into the root system, this time of year usually brings a nice amount of natural rainfall and fall leads into winter, which brings rest for your plants.
