ADA, Mich., November 19, 2013 - On November 20, up to 4,000 Amway employees will volunteer to support 15 Grand Rapids area non-profit organizations through 22 projects in a 24-hour time period to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the AMWAY ONE BY ONE CAMPAIGN FOR CHILDREN.
Since the AMWAY ONE BY ONE CAMPAIGN FOR CHILDREN launched in 2003, its focus has been to help children in need. In just 10 years, Amway Business Owners (ABOs) and employees have bettered the lives of more than 10 million children by volunteering 2.7 million hours and giving more than $190 million for thousands of projects around the world,
"The Amway commitment to West Michigan began more than 50 years ago with our founders, Rich DeVos and Jay Van Andel, and it keeps growing," said David Madiol, manager of West Michigan community relations. "Our company's giving culture has grown so much that, last year, more than 50 percent of our Ada employees volunteered their time. We are delighted to partner with 15 community organizations on November 20 to kick off the next 10 years of helping children."
Amway West Michigan employees will work on 22 projects, most at the Amway Spaulding manufacturing facility, ranging from building bikes to assembling hygiene kits [see attached fact sheet].
