Birthday Cake Martini

Marshmallow Infused Vodka

750 mL middle shelf vodka in a glass bottle (doesn't have to be fancy but no plastic bottled-vodka)

16 ounce bag marshmallows

Place marshmallows into a large bowl.  Pour vodka over marshmallows.  Cover contents of bowl with a lid.  Allow 24 hours for the alcohol to extract the marshmallow flavor.  Strain marshmallows using a cheese cloth and strainer.  Squeeze marshmallows in cheese cloth to get remaining flavored vodka.  Store the marshmallow-flavored vodka in a sealed glass bottle in the refrigerator until ready to use.

Birthday Cake Martini

3 oz. (2 shots) marshmallow infused vodka

3 oz. (2 shots) spumante or moscato d'asti (any sparkling wine or 7-up)

1.5 oz. maraschino cherry juice

1 maraschino cherry with stem attached

Colored sugar or sprinkles to line martini glass

Chill martini glass by filling with ice.

Add vodka and maraschino cherry juice to ice-filled martini shaker and shake.  Dump ice from martini glass and dip glass rim in a small plate of water.  Dip damp glass rim into a small plate of colored sugar or sprinkles.  Pour chilled vodka and maraschino cherry juice into glass.  Add sparkling wine. Add maraschino cherry for garnish.

Toast your favorite birthday boy or girl.
