The shirt after using the new Shout Color Catcher.
Muskegon, Mich. (WZZM)-- The new Shout Color Catcher claims the days of separating your clothes in the laundry are over. With the Color Catcher sheets, you're supposed to be able to wash even reds with whites and the sheets will soak up the dye with no color bleed.
I put it to the test with Muskegon Big Reds head football coach Shane Fairfield. He says he had the unfortunate experience of having brand new red and white uniforms turn pink.
We washed white t-shirts with new Muskegon Big Reds t-shirts and socks in cold water. Our white t-shirts did turn a hair pink. It says to add 2-3 sheets if you have a new garment so I did that, but had the same results.
According to the company, effectiveness is not guaranteed and to use reasonable care when washing whites with colors. So in a nutshell, I wouldn't do what the commercial claims you can do. I have used these myself though, and have had success with them. I would use them when you may only get a LITTLE color bleed.
