Head-on crash sends two to the hospital

ADA, Mich. (WZZM) - UPDATE: Police have released the names of the two people injured in a head on crash on Grand River Drive in Ada.  They say 39 year old Jeffrey Schultz crossed the center line hitting 59 year old Ronald Vanderboon.  The accident is still under investigation, but police believe alcohol may be a factor.

(WZZM) - Two people were seriously injured after a head-on crash in Ada Friday night. The crash happened just after 8:00 p.m. on Grand River Drive near Catamount trail.

Kent County Sheriffs tell WZZM 13 that a 39 year-old man was driving north on Grand River when he crossed the center line. He then hit a vehicle being driven by a man in his 60's.

Aero Med was called to transport one of the drivers to the hospital. Authorities say both drivers sustained serious but non life threatening injuries.

Grand River Avenue remains closed near the accident while deputies investigate the crash.
