ALPINE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZZM) -- Convenient stores are busy with customers buying lottery tickets for Tuesday's big drawing, but not everyone's into the hype.
"No, I don't play. I don't even watch it at all," says Will Buxton. He says he has no interest in spending money on the lottery. Not even when it's over $600 million.
WZZM 13 news found a lot of people who don't play. Each of them have a different reason why. Chris Gunlogson says, "You have better odds of getting struck by lightning twice."
Jack Pennell says, "You think you got tax problems now? Wait until that first year if you won the Mega Millions, that would be pretty bad."
"And it's the people that usually play the lottery, that play consistently every week, they win more," says Gunlogson.
Buxton says, "You know you have to trim the extra spending wherever, so I'm just conservative with my money."
