GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - An ArtPrize entry has been targeted by vandals a third time in less than two weeks.

Grand Rapids police say a 36-year-old man was walking with a female friend early Tuesday morning when he broke off a giraffe from the "Calm Before The Storm!" exhibit at Fulton and Jefferson.

Police stopped the man and arrested him.  He's been formally charged with larceny over $1,000.

Officers say the man and his 26-year-old friend had been drinking before the crime.

Adele Christine Vanocker, who created "Calm Before The Storm!" contacted WZZM 13 News on September 20, saying her piece had been vandalized twice already.  Vanocker tells WZZM 13 News someone broke a piece and took a dove.
