(WZZM) Greenthumb Rick Vuyst has some tips when it comes to growing tomatoes.

He says deep planting is key number one. Go a little deeper than just the base. Pinch off the lower leaves and sink it much lower.

Secondly he recommends using Microrizae to help improve the root system. Holly Tone has extra nutrients and calcium that Rick says is equally important in growing a good tomato plant. You should also build a little trough for puddling, to help keep the roots properly watered.

You should also provide good support for the branches and then snip off some of the lower branches near the ground. This will keep disease away from the tomato plant.
