(WZZM) - If you have Maple leaves on your lawn it may be from Maple Petiole Borer.
It comes from a fly that lays its eggs on the petiole of the leaf and once they hatch, they bore through the petiole and cause the leaf to break off and fall to the ground. It's not a big deal. Greenthumb Rick Vuyst says it won't kill your tree.
