(WZZM) - There are several different types of tomatoes, but they all have one thing in common. Good soil conditions are very important for getting the tastiest tomatoes.
Greenthumb Rick Vuyst likes to solarize his soil and then add maple leaves to it. After tilling it, he then adds about a half an inch of Dairydoo over the top of the soil. He also adds Microrizae to increase the phosphate levels in the soil. Then lastly he sprinkles Azomite over the top to add seventy different minerals to the soil, including calcium.
With these steps and a little luck in the weather department, Rick says you should have tasty tomatoes by August.
