GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WZZM) -- Developers are planning a $28 million dollar project that will combine retailers, restaurants and homes near Van Andel Arena.
The mixed-use development, called Arena Place, will be built at Weston and Ottawa Avenue southwest by Orion Construction.
The site is just southwest of the Van Andel Arena where a parking lot is now located.
Arena Place, according to the developers, will be LEED certified and include apartments and condominiums facing Ottawa Avenue, leasable space on the top floor, and a restaurant on the ground floor.
It will also have business tenants, including the branding company Hanon McKendry and Mindscape, each taking a whole floor.
The company plans to break ground in December, with a projected completion date of spring 2015.
