The West Shore Jazz Society in a non-profit organization that promotes live concerts featuring traditional jazz bands from cities of the mid-west.
The society hosts concerts at the Oakridge Country Club, in the reception hall known as 'Above And Beyond'.
Oakridge Country Club is located next to the beautiful Hoffmaster State Park at 513 West Pontaluna Road, Muskegon, Michigan 49444.
There is one concert per month from May through October each year.
The first concert in the 2013 concert series is on Sunday afternoon, May 5th, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Tickets are $25.
It will feature West Michigan's own jazz group, 'The River Rogues Jazz Band' which has been around since 1996.
Besides playing at the West Shore Jazz Society's concerts for over ten years, the Rogues have also performed for the Grand Rapids Symphony's Summer 'Picnic Pops' Concerts, the West Michigan's Jazz Society's 'Jazz At The Zoo', and the Lowell Showboat's 'Sizzlin' Summer' Concert Series. Their previous jazz album was nominated for a JAMMIE Award. Currently, the Rogues are finishing recording their third album which will be available in May.
