Shoplifting investigation leads to meth lab

FREMONT, Mich. (WZZM)  Two people have been arrested and charged with running a meth lab in Fremont.

Investigators with the Central Michigan Enforcement Team say that Sarah Jane Blanchette and Ryan Michael Stevens, both of Fremont, were arrested Tuesday and charged with Operating/Maintaining a lab involving methamphetamine.

Investigators say that Fremont Police were investigating the couple for shoplifting when they found components used to make meth in the couple's apartment.  Two children were also removed from the apartment and place in Newaygo County Child Protective Services.
