LANSING, Mich. (WZZM) -- Fourteen health insurance companies have applied to participate in the federally-run Michigan health insurance exchange. It's mandated under the Affordable Care Act, also known as "Obama Care."
The exchange website goes online on October 1. Citizens will then be able to shop around for a health care plan. Anyone without coverage, will have to pay a fine.
