Amway, group team up to build playground for disabled

Amway Corporation employees volunteered to build a new KaBOOM! playground.

TALLMADGE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZZM) -- West Michigan is getting a new playground, and this will be the first done in conjuction with a national non-profit group that will be for children with disabilities.

Amway and KaBOOM! will build a new playground Friday at the Indian Trails Camp in Tallmadge Township.

The camp provides camping experiences for children amd adults with disabilities.  It has been in operation since 1953.

This will be the 15th West Michigan playground built by KaBOOM! and Amway, but it is the first designed to be sensory friendly and accessible for all children.

More than 200 community volunteers are expected to take part. A ribbon cutting will be held at 2:30 p.m. to dedicate the new play area.
