"Ryan's Daughter" (1970) Directed by David Lean, with Robert Mitchum and Sarah Miles. From David Lean, the director of "Bridge on the River KwaI," "Dr. Zhivago" and "Lawrence of Arabia," comes a lesser known but beautiful film that is set in Ireland in 1916. It's a romantic film that also features Trevor Howard, John Mills and Leo McKern.

"The Triplets of Belleville" (2003) Directed by Sylvain Chomet. Wonderful animation and music bring this French film to life as it tells the story of the hunt for a kidnapped bicyclist and of a rescue attempt by a singing group.

"Samaritan Zatoichi" (1968) Directed by Kenji Misumi, with Shintaro Katsu and Yoshiko Mita. Zatoichi, a blind samurai, tries to help a women whose brother he killed by mistake. Things like that can happen when you can't see your enemy.
