GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- Fifth Third Ballpark will be a sea of pink Sunday afternoon when the Whitecaps host their 'pink out game,' which will help support breast cancer awareness.
Tuesday afternoon, several breast cancer survivors and their families wore pink to the ballpark and were asked to make a formation on the field in the shape of a giant Susan G. Komen ribbon.
An aerial photo was taken of the formation to be used to help promote Sunday's special game.
Tanya Horan, development director of the Susan G. Komen Foundation said, "This is an opportunity for survivors and their families to come out before the game and say thank you to the West Michigan community and special thanks to the Whitecaps for all that they have done."
The Whitecaps will wear special pink jerseys during Sunday's game which will be auctioned off afterward. All the proceeds will go to Susan G. Komen For The Cure for continued research in finding a cure for breast cancer.
