(GRAND RAPIDS, MICH)-July 11, 2013- Johnny Secreto Foods, a local artisan food company known for using all-natural, Michigan-sourced ingredients, announced today that they are partnering with several other local companies to host a free grilling clinic for women at Under The Vines in Grand Rapids on Thursday, July 25th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

While the clinic, called Girl Meats Grill, is designed to introduce women to grilling, men and couples are also encouraged to attend the event. Guests will have the opportunity to learn about the basic aspects of grilling with a gourmet touch from Chef Terri Rees, the owner of Tuxedo Junction Catering, LLC. She will be creating and demonstrating two different recipes featuring Johnny Secreto Spice Blends and new Great Northern Wines from Bell's Brewery, Inc. Patrons will also have a chance to taste Bell's new wines.

"When it comes to food and drink pairings for the grill most of us fail to consider the significant role that seasonings can play in determining the overall flavor of a dish," said John Coram, Co-Owner, Johnny Secreto Foods. "Most of us stick with the traditional red with beef, and white with fish, but our clinic will focus on choosing drink pairings that enhance and play well with the entire symphony of flavors and textures that comprise a dish, as opposed to just the type of meat that is being barbecued."

Participants are encouraged to register for the event in advance at Under the Vines located at 959 Cherry Street SE or by e-mailing The first 24 people to register will receive a t-shirt and recipe cards and they will also have the chance to be entered into a drawing for a door prize.

While this is their first grilling clinic, John Coram and Wade LaFever have been selling their products at Farmer's Markets all over the state since early 2012. The duo attended at least 10 venues a week. Just more than a year later, their Old World Spaghetti Sauce has earned premium shelf space at Meijer stores across the state and their entire product line is available at markets in Eastern and Western Michigan. They were also selected as one of three vendors to win the prestigious Next Big Sku Award from the Detroit-based Westborn Market.
