HOLLAND, Mich. (WZZM)- The Holland Department of Public Safety is investigating an accident with multiple victims suffering injuries early Saturday morning.

The accident happened shortly after 4 a.m. Police say Joseph Fenwick, 34, of Holland was driving westbound on 24th street when he failed to stop for the red traffic signal.

Fenwick's vehicle, a 2004 Chevy Tahoe, collided with a northbound vehicle being driven by Terry Henkel, 46, of Holland.

Fenwick's wife and four children ranging in age from 2-10 years old were hurt. Some of the children were thrown from the vehicle as it rolled after the collision.  The injuries consisted of fractured bones, head trauma and lacerations.

There were no injuries in Henkel's vehicle.

Some of the children were not properly restrained and Secretary Of State records indicate that Fenwick did not have a valid driver's license at the time of the accident.

All victims were transported to Holland Hospital for treatment.

The investigation remains open and will be forwarded to the prosecutor's office for review once it is completed.
