UPDATE: Detectives release name of shooting suspect

UPDATE AT 1:05 A.M. (WZZM) -- Police are releasing the name of a suspect in a shooting that left a man critically injured.

The shooting happened just before 9 p.m. Monday in the 2300 block of Seventh Street in Muskegon Heights.

Detectives are identifying their suspect as Tarnez Sequan Johnson, 37, of Muskegon.  Police say Johnson also has ties to the Detroit area.  they say he was last seen driving an older model black Jeep.

Investigators say Johnson is considered armed and dangerous.

The victim, whose name is not being released at this time, suffered serious injuries in the shooting, but detectives tell WZZM 13 News he is expected to survive.

Anyone with information on Johnson's whereabouts is advised not to make contact with him, but to call the Muskegon Heights Police Department at (231) 733-8900 and ask for Detectives White or Winston, or call 911.

MUSKEGON HEIGHTS, Mich. (WZZM) Muskegon Heights police are on the scene of a possible shooting.

Scanner traffic from Muskegon County dispatch reported a shooting inside a home in the 2300 block of 7th Street.  Initial reports mentioned one victim. Witnesses say a person walking down the street was shot twice.  The victim's condition is not known.  

We have a crew on the scene but police are not providing additional information at this time. We will have updates as they become available.
