WALKER, Mich. (WZZM) - Blind spots can mean big trouble if your behind the wheel of semi-truck. Saturday, the Michigan Office of Highway Safety Planning gave people a chance to see what it's like for truck drivers.
The event was in the Walmart marking lot on Alpine Avenue.
Drivers were able to sit inside the cabin, to see how fast cars can disappear in blind spots.
The event was a kick-off to a new state program designed to reduce the number of crashes involving trucks. Michigan State Police will be on the look-out for aggressive driving on U.S. 131 and I-196 through the end of December.
