Sam Cerniglia is a young voice with an old soul. Growing up the oldest boy in a large Italian family, loud conversation and good food were not the only things that helped this young man grow. Sam was introduced early on to the sounds of Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Dean Martin, and a menagerie of the soulful 70s.
From his debut performance, leading the 5th grade conga line, to singing for thousands in Chicago, Sam has always had a musician's heart. He began to pursue music seriously in high school through private, classical vocal study with Carlos Seise. He went on to study Vocal Performance at Central Michigan University for two years and finished his Bachelor's of Music at Columbia College Chicago, where his focus shifted from opera to contemporary, urban, and popular music. Through his studies, Sam found his musical home as a soulful crooner.
His performance experiences range from 200 member collegiate choruses to intimate ensembles and solo work. Sam has had the privilege of working with artists such as: Blake Shelton, Cher, Paul Mirkovich, Lonnie Brooks, Ivan Neville, Joan Osborne, Koko Taylor, Paquito D'Rivera, and more. Presently, Sam sings with the Eden Orchestra and Green Company in Chicago, and is elated to have been a part of Season 5 of NBC's, "The Voice!"
Simply put, Sam Cerniglia is a Mid-west boy with a heart of gold. "Music doesn't just allow me to express who and what I am, it grants me the gift to connect with people on a level that doesn't need an introduction," shares Sam. He has been wooing audiences throughout the Mid-west with his blend of cool soul and cannot wait to connect with fans on a national level.
