GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- Every year the Salvation Army brings out the red kettles and bell ringers to let everyone know it's time to donate.
But this year the Salvation Army is trying something different with a special Christmas Give Till It Helps concert.
The concert was held at the Baker House on East Paris Avenue and featured performances by Bowles and Bennett, and the Salvation Army Brass Ensemble.
"You can download their song for a donation for as little as a dollar. All proceeds from their song goes directly to the Salvation Army; they are not reserving any rights on this particular song so it's all ours," said Major Bob Mueller.
The Salvation Army says the need for donations is the greatest it's ever been. And because of the way the holidays fall on the calendar this year, the Salvation Army will only have 33 days of bell ringing for their Red Kettle Campaign.
