GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM)- Grand Rapids is hosting its very first holistic inspired expo focusing on body, mind and spirit. It's called Whole U GR.
One of the vendors is Zen Dog Canine Massage. It's located on Lake Michigan Drive in Grand Rapids.
Clients pay $30 for their dogs to experience therapeutic massage for a half hour.
Owner Alice Houlihan says the practice helps to improve the quality of life for dogs and support their overall well-being. "Massage has benefits for dogs in two ways. There's the emotional benefits because it comes from the nervous system and then there are physical benefits because it increase circulation and prevents muscles from atrophy."
The Whole U Expo runs Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the St. Cecilia Music Center on Ransom Northeast. Tickets are $10 at the door.
