NORTH MUSKEGON, Mich. (WZZM) -- Two North Muskegon Police officers have been fired for allegedly falsifying their time cards. Officers Erin Baerman Robert Brezina were terminated in late May.
According to the Police Chief Tom Korabik, Baerman and Brezina violated department policy while on duty in April. They are accused of false reporting on their time cards to get paid for hours they didn't work.
Michigan State Police are reviewing reports of the investigation leading to the disciplinary action to determine if any laws were broken.
The Muskegon County Prosecutor's Office is expected to review the state police findings to determine if the officers' actions warrant criminal charges.
According to the City of North Muskegon's website, Officer Baerman joined the police department in October 2005. Brezina was hired in February 2010 and became a full-time officer in August 2010.
