Boston, MA (Sports Network) - Cody Ross finished 4-for-5 with a pair of
doubles, a game-winning home run, three RBI and two runs scored, helping
Arizona take a 7-6 decision over Boston in the opener of a three-game
interleague set from Fenway Park.
Paul Goldschmidt clubbed a two-run shot, while Martin Prado added two doubles,
scored twice and drove in a run for the D-Backs, who have won two of three.
Randall Delgado (4-3) labored through six innings, allowing six hits and six
runs -- four earned -- but fanned seven and walked just one for the victory.
Stephen Drew homered to fuel a three-RBI performance, and David Ortiz hit a
two-run shot for the Red Sox, who failed to maintain momentum after sweeping
Seattle in the series prior.
Pedro Beato (1-1) served up Ross' deciding blast. Starter Jon Lester lasted
only 4 1/3 frames, tagged for 11 hits and six runs with six strikeouts.
