Kiln U at Fulton and Lexington
GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - A lot of time and work goes into the ArtPrize pieces but an unusual entry on the westside is a work in progress.
Grand Rapids artist, Todd Wozniak has been building a wood fired kiln. Its construction is part of his entry. It's called performance art and will show people what has to happen to pottery to make the finished product.
Construction will be finished in the next couple of days. After that, Wozniak will fire up the kiln, heat it to over 2,000 degrees, and will load 500 pots into it.
You can see the exhibit, called Kiln U on Fulton Street at Lexington Avenue, right next to Adobe In and Out.
