GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- Two storage garages that house the city's salt trucks will be transformed for the ArtPrize finale.

The garages, located along the Grand River at 265 Market Ave. SW, will host the ceremony on Friday, October 5.

ArtPrize communications director, Todd Herring says the transformation of the unusual space fits with ArtPrize's mission.

"In choosing city garages 5/6 for the ArtPrize Awards, we celebrate the transformative nature of art in cities. The ArtPrize Awards' location represents that beauty and art can be found in the most unexpected places, and we are thrilled for the public to see this revitalized space."

$560K in prizes will be awarded to artists at the ceremony, which runs from 7-10:30 p.m. Attire is "Casual Night Out."

Tickets will go on sale at ArtPrize registration day on Saturday, September 14, at 9 a.m. Tickets cost $15 and can be bought online at www.artprize.org/tickets or in person at The HUB at 41 Sheldon Blvd. SE.
