GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- Andrew Woodstock enjoyed the success of his 2012 Artprize entry, 'Tuskegee Airmen.' The piece, which honored America's first black military airmen, finished in the top 50 a year ago.

"That was amazing. With the (small) amount of people that came through that venue last year, still making it to the top 50, it felt really good," said Woodstock.

Woodstock is back for more in 2013 with an equally impressive work, 'Courage,' an eight foot by 12 foot watercolor and graphite illustration of baseball legend Jackie Robinson. The piece, which Woodstock began in April after seeing the movie '42,' is on display inside the Fountain Street Church.

"What he went through was amazing," Woodstock told WZZM Tuesday. "How he stood up to all that racism and all he had to deal with just to do what he loved to do. And that's something that I love to do in my art, is to show someone or a group of people how they have overcome and become what they are today."

Artprize 2013 runs September 18 through October 6.
