GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- Five weeks after fights forced it out, swing dancing has returned to Rosa Parks Circle.
On August 13th, police arrested at least 10 people because of fights that happened at the same time as the weekly swing dance. Police say the people involved were not part of the event.
After that, organizer Steve Zaagman moved the event indoors at the Masonic Temple downtown. But Tuesday night, the dancers returned to Rosa Parks Circle thanks to a new partnership with Grand Rapids Police.
Donations from people and organizations like Experience Grand Rapids and the DDA will cover the cost of security.
Two more swing dance events are planned for Rosa Parks Circle. After that, the event will move to the Grand Rapids Public Museum.
