(WZZM) - FMC stands for Foliar Moisture Content and Greenthumb Rick Vuyst says it's important to the health of your fresh cut Christmas Tree.

You want the FMC to be near 100%, which means there is moisture in the needles.  If the FMC falls to 50% or lower, you could get into trouble and the tree would dry-out.

After making a fresh cut to the bottom of your tree, make sure it has luke warm water each day.  That allows the moisture to be pulled up to the needles.
