(WZZM)-- Rick Vuyst says every good plant needs a companion, especially when planting a vegetable garden.
Rick likes cilantro and parsley, which make great companions for a lettuce and tomato garden. Tomato plants will provide necessary shade for the other vegetables in your garden.
Thyme and oregano will also do well in the front of a garden, as well as chives, which will add some flavor.
If you want to grow mint, Rick advises you put these in a container garden because they grow much faster than the other veggies.
