GRAAHI is challenging all runners and walkers to "PAINT THE STREETS PURPLE"
Registration is now underway for the Grand Rapids African American Health Institute's (GRAAHI) 5th annual 5k Rhythm Run/Walk and Health Fair. The race was created as part of GRAAHI's continued effort to raise cancer awareness and research, with a focus to encourage physical activity. The event is hosted by Dr. Karen M. Kennedy, MD, Browning-Claytor Health Center Advantage Health/St. Mary's Health, on Saturday, October 6, and will kick off at 9:00am at Martin Luther King Park on the corner of Fuller and Franklin SE GR MI 49507. Trophies and monetary prizes will be awarded. Group challenges are faith based, community, and business. Highlights includes a health fair with a variety of area vendors, a kid's fun hour from 10:00am - 11:00am activities include games, prizes, clown, and face painting. Participants and community residents will enjoy live entertainment by local choirs at miles 1 and 2, performances from area artist, and solo performances by Nate Glasper, I live to Praise and Judah Pack at the finish line.
