Chichicastenango, Guatemala (WZZM) -- Keeping families together and building stronger communities ... it's the mission of the new "One Family" campaign created by Bethany Christian Services. International adoptions are no longer allowed in Guatemala, but children and families are still suffering.
Stephanie Webb, of Take Five and Company, travelled to one of the most indigenous cities in the country - Chichicastenango - to meet the families involved with the program and learn more about how to help. This is the kick off week to the "One Family" campaign. During this week, and the events included in it, Bethany is seeking one thousand "sponsors" for children and families in Guatemala. They're easy and inexpensive - just $30 a month for an entire family to help with food, shelter, and an education for the children there.
