A Haunted House centers around the lives of a young couple named Malcom (Marlon Wayans) and Kisha (Essence Atkins). Life was going well, the love birds finally moved into their dream house in Los Angeles. Malcolm was so excited that he even decided to record everything. However, not long after they moved in together, strange things began to happen. There were unexplained noises, doors began to open by themselves, and their sex life was on hold. Malcolm eventually found out that it wasn't the house that was haunted, it was the girl. Things began to get really interesting as Malcolm recruited a racist ghostbuster, a gay psychic and a just out of jail priest, to exorcise the ghost once and for all. A Haunted House is a comedy, horror spoof film, NOT for kids of any age.

From the trailer this looks like a funny movie and okay for the R rating. Well....this movie could have been rated X. The film focuses on sex, drugs and fart jokes. It's not funny at all, the movie is very crude with no redeeming qualities.
Sexual Content: Excessive
• We saw Malcolm having sex with a stuffed animal and a ghost.
• We saw Kisha in a sexual encounter with a ghost.
• We saw other character's having sex; they didn't hide much at all.
• If we weren't seeing characters in a sexual encounter, we were hearing the sexual references that were made throughout the film.

Violent/Disturbing Content: Excessive
• Kisha was possessed by an evil spirit, she became an evil, creepy character.
• In one scene we saw her arm covered with crosses and x's; the priest got a knife and cut her arm. Her eyes were bulging out, her lips blue and cut up- she looked very evil.
• There were gun shots as the priest tried to kill the demon, he accidentally killed another character instead.

Crude or Profane Language: Excessive
• The f-word was said about twenty times, and we heard "s--t," "h--l," "d-mn," and other crude words throughout.

Drugs and Alcohol Content: Excessive
• We saw Malcolm and Kisha getting high with a ghost.
• The priest had cocaine in his cross, which he began to use.

Will Kids Like It? No
Having three teenagers, I know there was talk at school in regards to seeing this movie. The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) R-rating means; "R - Restricted. Children Under 17 Require Accompanying Parent or Adult Guardian." Due to the crude and disturbing sexual content, language and storyline, I do not recommend this movie for kids. There are a lot of great movies playing at the theater for teens...to name a few: Jack Reacher, The Hobbit, Les Miserable and The Impossible.
