Clark Kent/Kal-E l(Henry Cavill)... a boy who was sent to Earth as a baby from another planet, a boy who grew up in Smallsville, Kansas; raised by farmers and loving adopted parents, a boy who helped those in need, a boy who became...Superman! Man of Steel is the latest version of the 75-year-old superhero story. In this action packed film, sci/film, we see how Superman saves the world from General Zod, the evil villain from Kyrpton, and how he becomes the symbol of hope for all mankind.

There were great messages throughout the film. Clark Kent's earthly parents taught him to make good choices and do the right thing. He was very close to his parents, and continually checked on their safety, especially when the aliens attacked Earth.
As a child and throughout his life, Clark Kent (aka Superman) helped people in need. It didn't matter if they were his friends, kids who bullied him, or people he didn't even know. He truly cared for the well-being of others, and humbly helped mankind.
The film was a little long, 143 minutes. I notice the little kids in the theater were getting bored and antsy. Having said that, it's a great film for pre-teens and teens.
Sexual Content: Mild
• Clark Kent and Lois Lane (Amy Adams) kiss.

Violent Content: Excessive
• When the aliens attacked Earth, there were explosions, buildings destroyed, people screaming and running from danger.
• Lois Lane was injured by an alien, we saw a blood stain on her shirt.
• On Krypton we saw character's fighting, punching each other, tossing one another all over the place.
• Zod, the evil villain, grabbed a woman by the neck and threw her to the ground.
• Zod shot a woman with a ray gun, then we saw her crumble to the ground.
• Heat rays from Zod's eyes destroyed a room and threatened innocent civilians.
• We saw a school bus filled with kids, crash and land in water. Kids were gasping for air as the bus sank.

Crude or Profane Language: Mild
• We heard, "sh-t," "a--," "h--," and "d-mn," however not a lot, a couple times each.

Drugs and Alcohol Content: Mild
• We see character's drinking beer and scotch.
Will Kids Like It? Yes
Overall Man of Steel is a wonderful movie, however, parents need to be aware of the excessive violent content throughout the film. Depending on the child, I recommend this film for kids ages 11 and up.
