You will need:
Alka-Seltzer, water, toilet tissue, containers with removable tops (such as film canisters or m&m tubes).

Now try this:
Where safety glasses.
1) Fill canister 1/4 - 1/2 full water

2) Place a thin piece of tissue over the open top of the canister.

3) Place Alka-Seltzer tablet on of tissue and seal with lid.

4) Flip the canister over and set flat on tabletop. Stand back and in less then 10 seconds? 10 9 8 7 6 5 4... BLAST OFF!!!

When Alka-Seltzer is put into water a chemical reaction takes place.
This is evident by the bubbling that you see. This bubbling is a gas that is released called carbon dioxide. It is a result of two
ingredients in Alka-Seltzer which are citric acid and baking soda.
This carbon dioxide, like all gases have a lower density than liquids and as it is produced builds up pressure inside the container. After enough pressure builds up, the top pops off and lifts the rocket! This is great science fun!
