Tailgate food options

For grillers:
Philly Cheese Steak Hoagie
Serving size 1-2

one 8 to 12 inch bun.
4 - 6 oz of Steak thinly sliced
3 oz. Cheese of choosing. Cheese whiz, Swiss etc.
1/2 cup chopped or sliced Spanish onion sauteed
1/2 cup Mushrooms sauteed
1/2 green peppers sauteed

Grill steak to desired temperature. Place on bun add sauteed vegetables add cheese cut in quarters or halves and serve. Steak Sauce optional. Serve with potato salad or macaroni and cheese.

Simple and Easy Subs

Traditional Subs

8 - 12 inch Buns
3.5 oz -16 oz. Assorted meats
2-6 oz Cheese you choice
Assorted veggies lettuce chopped, tomatoes sliced, pickles sliced, onion etc.
Assorted seasoning oregano, salt and pepper.
Dressing Mayo, Mustard oil Vinegar or a variation described below.

Start with a toasted bun for best results. Assemble sandwiches placing meat and cheese on top portion of bun then add desired veggies to the bottom of the bun add seasoning if desired such as salt and pepper. Add dressing of choice. Traditional hoagies use olive oil!

Option is to let the guests create their own sandwiches and put out the topping separately.

Cut into quarters and serve

Simple flavorful variations to mayo

Garlic Mayo

Serving side 1 tablespoon serves 6-8 people

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

1 cup Mayonnaise
2 TBSP Minced or chopped fresh Garlic garlic
Black Pepper

Mix Minced garlic thoroughly with Mayonnaise. Add more garlic to taste. Then add black pepper to tatste to mixture. Black pepper should stick to Garlic

Chipotle Mayonnaise

1 cup Mayo
add Chipotle or other chili spice to taste
