1 or 2 lbs summer sausage (normally served cold with cheese and crackers)
Mad Dog & Merrill's # ONE BBQ sauce
grated cheddar cheese
Strip both wrappers off summer sausage. Cut a one inch V down one of the sides. Set grill for medium direct heat. Treat the sausage like a big hotdog, brown and roll around on grill until cooked through (8, 10 or 12 minutes or so). Turn V side up, pour BBQ sauce to fill 3/4 of the V, top with some bacon bits and grated cheese. Put hood down for just a minute to melt cheese, slice and serve as an appetizer.
