SOUTH HAVEN, Mich. (WZZM) - 30 people at a lakeshore nuclear power plant will be out of a job by the end of the year.
Terry Young, the VP of Nuclear Communications for Entergy, tells WZZM that 30 positions are being eliminated at the Palisades Nuclear plant in South Haven. This represents about 4% of the staff at the plant.
Nationwide, Entergy is restructuring, reducing the number of positions by about 800, or 6% of the total workforce.
The company says that safety will be a stronger focus in some parts of the reorganization.
