Great Lakes Shipwrecks opens at GR Public Museum

GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - An exhibit focusing on Great Lakes shipwrecks opens Saturday, November 10th at the Grand Rapids Public Museum.

Many people think of the Edmund Fitzgerald when talking about ships lost on the Great Lakes, because of the "Ballad of the Edmund Fitzgerald" by singer Gordon Lightfoot. Along with the Edmund Fitzgerald, the exhibition will also artifacts and stories from the SS Milwaukee and the Carl D. Bradley.

There is also an interactive component designed in collaboration with Ferris State University that will allow visitors to play the role of ship captains, crews and lifesaving teams.

Admission to "Great Lakes Shipwrecks Storms and Stories" is free with general admission to the Grand Rapids Public Museum.
