Robbery suspect arrested after 7-11 hold up

KENTWOOD, Mich. (WZZM) - An armed robbery suspect was caught shortly after allegedly robbing a 7-11 store in Kentwood.

The robbery happened Friday morning at the 7-11 at 44th Street and Breton.  Police were called to the scene on reports that a clerk at the store had been robbed by a suspect with a knife.

Corey Roberts, 42, matched the description given by the clerk was noticed by a Kentwood police officer and was detained.  Police found evidence from the robbery and the knife with the suspect.  Roberts is also the suspect in two Grand Rapids armed robberies, including the robbery at the Marathon station on the East Beltline on January 17.  A surveillance photo from that robbery is attached above as well.

Roberts was arraigned in the Kentwood case Friday afternoon for Armed Robbery.
