Sexually active men and women continue to be at risk for contracting HIV. The Michigan Department of Community Health reports that in 2012 Kent County had 42 new HIV diagnoses.

We are fortunate here in Grand Rapids to have a non-profit that offers many programs to help stop the spread of HIV infections it's called the Red Project.

Steve Alsum with the Red Project talks about their needle exchange that has reduced infections from needles from 25% to 10% in ten years and their new mobile unit that will help reach neighborhoods throughout the city.

There's a way you can help keep this non-profit in our community. Thursday is Dining Out For Life day.

All you have to do is eat at one of the participating 22 restaurants in the Grand Rapids and you will be helping to reduce the spread of HIV/AIDS in Kent County.
