GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - Many of the 14 pets that were rescued from home on the city's northwest side are now available for adoption. In July, animal control officers were called to on a complaint about dogs living in their own waste. They took ten dogs, three cats and a chinchilla from the home, while police questioned the owner. After weeks of treatment most of them are now available for adoption at the Kent County Animal Shelter. The former owner of the animals is charged with misdemeanor animal cruelty and neglect.
