The last few days have brought significant lake effect snow to parts of West Michigan. So, how are we doing on snowfall versus normal.

Grand Rapids has see a little under 19 inches of snow so far this season. That compares to an average of around 47 inches, or about 28 inches below normal.

Muskegon is around 36 inches off snow so far this season. The normal to this date is just over 58 inches. Thats about 23 inches below average.

The heaviest snow the last several days has been southwest and northwest of Grand Rapids with over 12 inches in those areas.

More lake-effect snow is possible later this week as another arctic blast moves into the state.
