HART, Mich. (LUDINGTON DAILY NEWS)Lee-Ann Shannon did drown, an autopsy revealed.
Oceana County Prosecutor Joe Bizon now has the cause of death officially he was anticipating in the murder case against Timothy Shannon.
"We are not surprised," Bizon told the Ludington Daily News.
He received everything he was expecting from the autopsy results. The investigation is ongoing, but the autopsy, including toxicology results, are in, he said.
A trial date for Timothy Shannon, 34, a former Hart city councilor, has been set for June 19-21 on open murder for drowning his wife in a bathtub in their home Dec. 29.
Timothy had his girlfriend, Jamie Hathaway, move in that same day, Hathaway testified during the Jan. 22 preliminary examination that bound Timothy over to Oceana County's 27th Circuit, where Judge Terrence R. Thomas will preside over the case.
