GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- Former colleagues of a Grand Rapids Police Officer killed in the line of duty gathered for a day of fun in his honor.
They played Saturday in the Bob Kozminski Memorial Softball Tournament at Huff Park. It's a day-long event that started at 9:00 a.m.
Kozminski was shot and killed in July of 2007 responding to a domestic disturbance.
"I'm very proud" said GRPD Officer Joe Trigg, one of Kozminski's partner's on the job. "You have police officers coming from all corners of the state."
Proceeds from the event go to the Thin Blue Line, a group that assists officers wounded in the line of duty, as well as their families.
