(WZZM) - The United States Conference on Mayors has created a list of "Ready to Go" projects that when (or if) the federal government stimulus funding gets approved, these projects will get started right away, creating jobs and fixing infrastructure.

Mayors from several U.S. cities supplied their "wish lists" for the report.  From West Michigan, only Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo and Battle Creek are represented.

Grand Rapids has over $250 million in projects, that the city says will create almost 4,000 jobs.  Kalamazoo is wishing for almost $70 million, which could they say could net over 4,500 jobs.  Battle Creek is looking for just over $69 million for 900 jobs.

Things you may find interesting:  How many hybrid cars the city of Kalamazoo is looking for in their city fleet, how much the two requested wind turbines would be in Battle Creek, and the reconstruction and renovation funding to help out Grand Rapids Public Schools.

In the database below, you can search between Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo and Battle Creek and the types of projects that are "wished for."  Projects are classified as:

  • Airport
  • CDBG (Community Development Block Grants)
  • Energy
  • Public Safety
  • Schools
  • Streets/Roads
  • Transit
  • Water
