Spring Lake (WZZM) - A Spring Lake neighborhood is ready to light up one of the biggest holiday displays in the country.
The 14-families on Heather Court have been stringing more than 200-thousand lights over the past several weeks, but one man has been working on this display all year.
"Everyone has their obsessions, this just happens to be mine," said Brad Boyink, the creator of the light show.
Almost every year, Boyink lights up his Spring Lake neighborhood with one of the country's largest community based light shows.
Eight miles of more than 200-thousand lights are strung between 14 houses. Last year, Boyink says the show attracted close to 70-thousand people.
"This year we went back to the drawing board, redesigned everything," said Boyink.
He's added 50,000 more lights, six concert grade LED video screens and it's now all controlled from Brad's IPad.
"I kinda went past Chevy Chase," said Boyink. "I'm now up to Buddy Hall."
Boyink says the display uses 100% LED efficient lighting. Last year, he says they collected close to $33,000 for charity.
The show starts Friday and lasts through December 17th.
